Vachkazhets is an ancient volcano, destroyed in the result of eruption and divided into three distinct parts: Vachkazhets Mountain (1556 m), Letnyaya Poperechnaya Mountain (1417 m), and Vachkazhtsi, or Dvuzubka Mountain (1509 m). There are two large volcanic circles in the area of Letnyaya Poperechnaya Mountain, which are the remains of the whole crater of that ancient volcano.

Vachkazhets in summer is one of the most picturesque places in Kamchatka. In winter the volcano offers vast expanses and sharp snow-covered rocks, which attract skiers, snowboarders, and snowmobilers.
